273482543Design the feel of motion.
This installation was for Aisin Seiki at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
Aisin Seiki's technology manufactures many of the components that make up a car, supports the car from the inside, and creates a new relationship between people and mobility. Although the technology of Aisin Seiki is hidden inside the car, we aimed to express their advanced technology by expressing the most important thing created by their technologies as "beautiful movement." On the large basin filled with a special fluid, the contact surface of the tire appears as a three-dimensional shape, draws an elegant arc, runs off vividly, and only the trajectory of movement is expressed. It is not the appearance of the car as a substance, but the beautiful movement of the car itself, and the expression as a sign. Also, when the large basin and the viewer confront each other, the movement and the viewer meet and create a relationship between people and mobility, which gives a significant impression as an experience. By expressing the advanced automobile technology of Aisin Seiki, which is originally inside the car, with only "beautiful movement" created by that technology, this installation directly conveys and recalls Aisin Seiki’s goal of “creating the relationship between people and mobility.”
