Kurihara - Born in Aichi, Japan.
Kurihara graduated from Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University, Japan, and MA in Documentary Photography, University of the Arts London (LCC). He studied quantitative sociology, ethnographic research, and photography.
Kurihara joined Sony Corporation in 2003 and worked in marketing in Tokyo for five years, followed by three years in Shanghai, China. Motivated by a growing interest in creative expression, he moved to the UK for further studies.
In 2014, Kurihara founded pear LLC., engaging in projects that navigate the intersection of business and design. He has been involved in a variety of projects centered around research and development, including new business development, design research and vision design for organization. He is also pursuing his doctoral studies at IAMAS, researching media experiences and their effects that evoke a sense of awe.
Since 2024, Kurihara has been a member of TAKT PROJECT.
